<h3>
<span style="font-size: large;">Long and behold, the summer is amongst us. It's time for us to put the ski jackets and mountain boots in the attic and get out the shorts and vests ready for yet another sun festival of a summer us Brits enjoy on an annual basis (joke.)</span></h3>
However, with global warming and the such taking hold and creating freak weather forecasts, Britain might just have an actual summer so we need to prepare! Mocks are the answer for your summer footwear.<br />
<br />
Mocks are a shoe brand with a difference, rising from the idea of traditional moccasins Mocks provide a comfortable yet stylish shoe that will look great on the beach or even around the town. If it is a loafer you are looking for or a boat shoe, look no further than Mocks!<br />
<br />
A lot of my friends love getting theirs out for the summer BBQs and having a kick about but they do look very trendy on a night out if you want to risk them getting dirty, the picture above is one of my closest friends wearing his before a night out!!<br />
<br />
Make sure you heck out their website below for the whole range of male and female shoes in a range of colours and styles to match your style:<br />

<h3>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Apple has reportedly been becoming very busy to modernise the iTunes section of its vast company to rival the likes of Spotify and other streaming products. Also, to accompany the streaming, Apple could be trying to aims its market towards the Android users in the world.</span></h3>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">There is no doubt that if Apple were offering a streaming service, like Spotify, that it would more than likely blow all competition out of the water. For instance, instead of buying a song of the Apple Store for 99p, you would be able to pay a monthly payment to have unlimited access to the complete store. Also, if they decided to allow this to occur on all forms of Apple software then it would literally destory all streaming Apps as such.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Apple have also reportedly decided to reach out to those who dont neccessary enjoy the iPhone or iPad and opt to use Android software. An app which would allow an Android user to reach their iTunes library at home, for example, would totally revoultionise the battle between Apple and Android and make it a more harminous relationship.</span><br />

<h3>
After reading a collection of photos from Martin Parr paired with the written commentary from Kate Fox (previously written The Hidden Rules of English Behaviour) it was interesting to find myself analysing the society of England and myself included. This recent read delves into the very fabric of English society and the norms we follow in everyday life. It is available to read in Vice Magazine's recent issue, Volume 11: No. 7, which features their favourite photograph collections over the year.</h3>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The first of three sections highlights the issue of national pride, titled 'A Nation of Closet Patriots'. It tackles why England, compared to many other countries, seems to have a distinct lack of national pride and the reasons why this occurs. Take the legacy of London 2012 for example, yes I do agree that our country's current economic state is crippling many families around the UK but the worry of financial decline and waste of money hung over the Olympics like a evil shadow throughout and to make it even worse the only glimmer of hope and pride was due to the sporting achievement and not the celebration of national culture that many countries forebode throughout their holding of the Olympics. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
For instance, the tourists and visitors of the Olympic sites should of been scoffing a vast array of English delicacies that the on-site fish and chip shop had to offer washed down with a lovely 'brew' or can of 'irn-bru'. However, instead of that spectators were treated to the global phenomenon that is McDonalds to provide maximum profit. Furthermore, the self-image of this country is something that takes a major hold in opportunities for national celebration, the English people do not want to be seen waving little flags around and they seemed embarrassed to be associated with the country at all. St. George's Day is another day that lacks oomph and razzamatazz but instead consists of the people going to the local pub for a quick celebratory ale then back home to catch The X Factor auditions, us English should take a leaf out of the Irish's book for Saint Celebration Days with their spectacular celebrations for St. Patrick's Day where Guinness flows through the streets of Ireland with the subtle overlay of Baileys and Irish Whiskey to make a concoction of sore heads the morning after.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
All this leads to down to two of the most typical English social behaviours, Moderation and "Eeyorishness", us English do not do extreme well. English tend not to take to extreme celebrations and actions we would rather stay in with a quiet couple of cans and relax, we don't enjoy intensity at all. Our "Eeyorishness" means we would much rather have a therapeutic moan about how St. George's Day hasn't been celebrated well rather than actually doing something about it. However our lack of action as of recent can lead to a number of acceptable reasons from the symbol that the English flag represents sometimes with the symbolic nature of English hooligans roaming the beaches of the Costa Del Brava in their ugly England shorts and the racist manner it is used to symbolise the EDL. The once common feeling of patriotism in England has been replaced with a minority now associated with racism.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The only occasion that these barriers are broken come when a Royal Celebration arrives on our annual calendar. The Royals provide us English with something called "festival inversion" which makes society to turn off their social norms of being quiet amongst the neighbourhood and becoming part of a community for the first time ever. The Royal Jubilee brought back the street parties and past memories of national celebration but the tragedy of this is that this unification of one country ends as soon as the last drunken party-goer drops off to sleep! The day after brings back the social norms of introvert people and lack of pride. Tragic indeed.</div>
<div>
<br />
The second part of the collection was all about the ever-so dreaded concept of 'Queuing' and how us English are one of the few countries not to react to the annoying action of 'Queue Jumping'. Throughout my life, queues for nightclubs or for a drink has always laid witness to a queue jumper and that good old English 'Eeyorishness' creeps in and I must admit I also fall for this behaviour of excessively moaning my tits off all night about one scenario and yet doing nothing within my power to do anything about. The most shocking revelation that came from reading this was basically, if you need to queue you may as well jump the whole queue in England because the worst case scenario of your actions will be a few groans and frowned faces behind you... take note.<br />
<br />
The final section of the collection brought me to the self-reflective stage of how British people treat their pet dogs. In England, dogs are basically kings and queens to us (not the corgis who are actual Royal Family) as we treat dogs with luxury and often personify our pets, the relationship between human and dog in England is an interesting evaluation indeed.<br />
<br />
Our treatment of animals isn't just a recent endeavour however, with the fact that the RSPCA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) was created more than a decade before the NSPCC (National Society of the Prevention of Cruelty to Children) highlighting who us English deemed more important in life. Kate Fox, the writer in this collection, made something called ENGLISH SOCIAL DISEASE to explain why we relate better with dogs than humans as it explains how us English have better social and emotional relationships with dogs as we subconsciously try and understand our pet dog automatically giving it emotion and we pair familiar facial expression of our dogs to understand how he/she is feeling whereas for humans any facial contact is deemed and taken completely different between two humans. For example, a glance between two humans in England is taken in either two ways according to gender and sexuality etc.... a glance can be either taken as flirtation or aggression. Honestly I did an experiment of my own in a crowded place and honestly most men who I shared a glanced at automatically frowned towards my direction in an aggressive manner.<br />
<br />
This collection is honestly one of the best reads I have indulged in with its brutal yet truthful nature and interesting theories about English society and it is definitely worth a read for abit of self-reflection.<br />

<h3>
Festival season is up and running so here is a lovely mixtape from artists who are performing all over the country at the likes of Glastonbury, T in the Park etc..</h3>
</span></h3>
<h4>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Jay-Z - Tom Ford & Crown (Magna Carta Holy Bible)</span></h4>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiJMSNnOezSOYO6VnKUAM7pW97li3zMl53vs0GiD8bBGMcKieuuGJZStZnt8LaEFJ3g6CrWXr3VqzLJaADq-CBbEnXrNORPmJn42dBiwvmuu_IoK4D77odLZNUam8wr7Zuac-vOEInzpk/s1600/jay-z-magna-carta-holy-grail-full-album-stream-3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiJMSNnOezSOYO6VnKUAM7pW97li3zMl53vs0GiD8bBGMcKieuuGJZStZnt8LaEFJ3g6CrWXr3VqzLJaADq-CBbEnXrNORPmJn42dBiwvmuu_IoK4D77odLZNUam8wr7Zuac-vOEInzpk/s200/jay-z-magna-carta-holy-grail-full-album-stream-3.jpg" width="200" /></a></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Following my <a href="http://itsgrimmupnorth.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/kanye-vs-jay-z.html">post about Jay-Z release of his new album, Magna Carta Holy Bible</a>, these two tracks are definitely the stand outs amongst the crowd. With the subtle similarity towards the direction of Kanye's "Yeesus", Jay-Z has created two songs that have easily urinated on Kayne's whole entire album. These songs have it all... the iconic Jay-Z wit, the backing track to get those booties shaking and the hype to please the masses.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<h4>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></h4>
<h4>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Kanye West - Blood on the Leaves (Yeezus)</span></h4>
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXK4QPt6LSyBx8r7H6roVf9WUaXjoT4YKdoolLCoXXv7uDzZpwRBMx2D_QTxXiCYtCXvZleb8XdkHgEum2QHS2iwIIR6Kjkes03KgH0SCqTcxKw4uc8AU0K6JjCpdfGprp1RCoy4jHNPo/s1600/large_20130518-yeezus-306x-1369078235.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="179" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXK4QPt6LSyBx8r7H6roVf9WUaXjoT4YKdoolLCoXXv7uDzZpwRBMx2D_QTxXiCYtCXvZleb8XdkHgEum2QHS2iwIIR6Kjkes03KgH0SCqTcxKw4uc8AU0K6JjCpdfGprp1RCoy4jHNPo/s200/large_20130518-yeezus-306x-1369078235.jpg" width="200" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Kanye has returned with a bold return and as well many people might think that its desired achievement hasn't been reached, this track right here is a gem. From start to end, 'Blood on the Leaves' shows the direction that Kanye wants to travel in and how affective it can be for making great songs! Taking the backing track from '<span style="background-color: whitesmoke; line-height: 18px;">R U Ready by TNGHT' and adding some typical Kanye-esque lyrics give this song a real quality.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: whitesmoke; line-height: 18px;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: whitesmoke; line-height: 18px;"><br /></span></span>

<h4>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 18px;">Arctic Monkeys - Do I Wanna Know? (AM)</span></span></h4>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiE0lZaCqjXURRf1seZaxdx-ysQje7kiErIBrnCTbx7uePeHQAxiUx_sgZhyphenhyphenX7VtEjvhk-GOzQVlSDnuFR4xy2ZQZrRQGW676XBg5aVSRDm5rSMTqw4nBv2CdVYHY_ow_H7bg8gjkpxyTM/s1600/bec7021e.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiE0lZaCqjXURRf1seZaxdx-ysQje7kiErIBrnCTbx7uePeHQAxiUx_sgZhyphenhyphenX7VtEjvhk-GOzQVlSDnuFR4xy2ZQZrRQGW676XBg5aVSRDm5rSMTqw4nBv2CdVYHY_ow_H7bg8gjkpxyTM/s200/bec7021e.jpg" width="200" /></a></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 18px;">I will skip all the background around the song and allow you to read my earlier post about it <a href="http://itsgrimmupnorth.blogspot.co.uk/2013/06/arctic-monkeys-do-i-wanna-know.html">here</a>. Getting straight to the point with this track, its amazing! Arctics are no doubt at their prime at the moment with all the attention surrounding their astonishing performance at Glastonbury and hopefully their new album 'AM' will live up to the hype. Alex Turner's catchy yet romantic and ever-so genius lyrics are in full force to match their new rock & roll sound that perfectly accompanies the foot high quiff. Well done lads.</span></span></div>

<h4>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Chic - Everybody Dance (Nile Rodgers Presents The Chic Organization - Up All Night)</span></h4>
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNEfQqLTxNYtkxbqJUdwBfhVcDwbcjbZGFqXhjHLVSXHsBR2FvF1bGDKnFDyDPZvKixV5wsDQgd81i9aRgiZd2Zh1QKx5Bxjpa5VnHKRAEh9UshkZ3eaIZuau1-erNsfZQt3cYwsCpGe0/s1600/1372826227_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNEfQqLTxNYtkxbqJUdwBfhVcDwbcjbZGFqXhjHLVSXHsBR2FvF1bGDKnFDyDPZvKixV5wsDQgd81i9aRgiZd2Zh1QKx5Bxjpa5VnHKRAEh9UshkZ3eaIZuau1-erNsfZQt3cYwsCpGe0/s200/1372826227_n.jpg" width="200" /></a></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">To all those who saw Chic & Nile perform at Glastonbury, you can completely understand why this song has been included in my mixtape. This track has literally been on loop on all my formats on media players... on the bus, in the shower the lot. Nile Rodger's recent exposure on Daft Punk's 'Get Lucky' track definitely done this band some favours at Glasto with many young teenagers now getting amongst the funk that this band once gave the world. This band owned that stage soo well that I am half expecting some sparkly flared jeans making their way towards the Topman closest to you.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<h4>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Palma Violets - Best of Friends (180)</span></h4>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8yZ1ksm_EQAqeH-47LSUByHWKKohKgeeTt3qcs91Qe9n1hUH4B5vH19fA-zeFKzn59mZ8PBSAUnWuWT3M5c9fpC4D_WDEY05m9sM1nvxz8NC2gyb8wJiAwJqZ-MOFANzSBm7RXni5TIg/s1600/palma-violets.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="197" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8yZ1ksm_EQAqeH-47LSUByHWKKohKgeeTt3qcs91Qe9n1hUH4B5vH19fA-zeFKzn59mZ8PBSAUnWuWT3M5c9fpC4D_WDEY05m9sM1nvxz8NC2gyb8wJiAwJqZ-MOFANzSBm7RXni5TIg/s200/palma-violets.jpg" width="200" /></a></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Palma Violets are another addition from the hundreds of Glasto recordings available from BBC and this band were definitely a surprising hit. Palma Violets seemed to hit the ground running when their album titled '180' was released a couple of month ago but then that hype died off very quickly but this band showed all signs of growth when playing a packed Glastonbury stage. 'Best of Friends' was the stand out song by a mile with its very unique way of sounding like a live song during its album version so when the opening chords rung through the fields of Glastonbury, it sounded all the same.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<h4>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Beady Eye - Soul Love (BE)</span></h4>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgv96Fj9HC-51wTX4KOMDbXy-9gb-xpfTdWc1b6Mnw8jHtaBHsYk35B3G3i0QQWvw5cGSsnub0VMv_2-TGVy6tCdjB-iT1dYe17tVLVYAUqcZ-2o8FiyLLHqSHM-5XZtkBkUH6PYGO5rwg/s1600/2013BeadyEyeBe600G160413.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="199" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgv96Fj9HC-51wTX4KOMDbXy-9gb-xpfTdWc1b6Mnw8jHtaBHsYk35B3G3i0QQWvw5cGSsnub0VMv_2-TGVy6tCdjB-iT1dYe17tVLVYAUqcZ-2o8FiyLLHqSHM-5XZtkBkUH6PYGO5rwg/s200/2013BeadyEyeBe600G160413.jpg" width="200" /></a></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Beady Eye's second album has no way reached the craze that the first one achieved but this is good thing indeed it seems. With the rumours of Noel & Liam's famous clashes now on the back burner awaiting for a new spark (perhaps Liam's new "child" might) Beady Eye has concentrated on the music and have produced some deep and complex sounds to create a fantastic album. However, the curse of the lead vocalist has struck Liam with his already rough voice constant deteriorating it only looks like a matter until his voice will become more like a Manc grown than an actual tone.</span></div>

<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Tom Odell couldn't of been happier two weeks ago when he was playing to a huge crowd of Glastonbury fans then the news of his number one album turned dreams into reality. 'Another Love' is the pinnacle of the album with Tom starting softly then erupting into an explosion of song and anger... a lot like his career! The good friend of Lily Allen has been given alot of support and exposure from the musical "creme" (Lily has boycotted NME due to their opinion of Tom's album). Another Love deserves all the credit and fame he has achieved as it a truly classic song.</span></div>

<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Two Cali girls wearing little clothes and playing rock & roll... sounds like an idea of heaven doesn't it? But no Deap Vally have awarded the world of music with just that and one word of advice... don't mess with these girls. Their rough & ready rock is a beautiful matriarch homage to The White Stripes with the odd squeal of the guitar and catchy riffs. 'Baby I Call Hell' debuted in the UK on Jools Holland and boy did it light up that place, the average of the crowd was about 60 and their pace-makers must of been off the Richter Scale. </span></div>

<h3>
Some recent releases from the likes of Nike and Adidas have sparked a nostalgic war amongst the designers of football manufactures which has led to some to delve within the cobwebbed archives of their brand's past to create some of the most original yet modern football boots we have ever seen.</h3>
<span style="text-align: center;">Over the past few years, footballers around the world have seemed to sport some rather ill-taste coloured boots to match their flash cars or pet chiwawa collar. However next season looks promising indeed, the original and ever-so perfect black is returning to professional football stadiums around the globe.</span><br />

<span style="text-align: center;">Nike started it all off with the release of their new addition to their Premier collection (see top image). Nike Premier definitely gives that nostalgic feeling that every traditional players wants to feel with Nike digging deep and pulling influences from a vast range of their previous boots to create a simply stunning pair of boots. Simple and elegant with the pure quality of kangaroo leather is what make these boots a must-have in any players arsenal of boots, the essence of the king Eric Cantona himself ring through them. After the successful hype of the Nike Premiers, Nike turned to their modern greats and pulled out a more simple and classic feel to these boots which are notorious for being as bright as the sun with a selection of aluminous colours to dazzle your opponent with. Each boot Nike have released ooze tradition with the selection of black and addition of true leather to give style and wear-ability to the new season.</span></div>

<b><br /></b>
<b> </b>Adidas have always been known for their black out releases and this season is no expection with a new 11pro black-out release along with their brand new boot the "HyperCharge". Unlike the rest of the other footballing brands though, Adidas haven't submerged themselves in the mass history of the brand to create a classic boot but with the "Copa Mundial" and the "World Cup" still one of the best selling football boots ever, they really didn't have to. </div>

<br />
Puma recently have attempted to create the future of footballers footwear with lightweight and durable boots but this season they have funnelled their attention towards their classic the Puma "King". Dubbed the "King", the boot is held in the same assettem as the "Copa Mundial" and the "World Cup" with it's crafted leather upper to provide the most deft of the touches. The new "King" however follows it's predaccesors with it's new shape and modern lightweight structure but Puma haven't drifted too far from the monarch of their boots with the leather upper and all-black colourway.</div>

<br /></div>
<div>
The "Speciali" was wore by one of the greatest of Newcastle United players to wear the black & white shirt... Alan Shearer and Umbro's new release of their great wouldn't let the number 9 down at all. In the last couple of years Umbro have rejuvenated themselves with their back-to-basics moto and this Speciali doesn't stray far from that with it's all leather upper and the only colour that this boot offers is the slight touch of Red that will tease them professionals who love abit of extrovert imagery in their photos. </div>
<div>

<div>
This brand are definitely the mark of which every other brands need to be aiming for if they want to make a truly classic football boot. The Italian brand aren't the most famous amongst the celebrities of the footballing world but their exposure doesn't mean nothing when you see the sheer quality of their new release the "Piceno". They have added a bit of colour to their boot and this new release isn't their finest moment by any stretch but with any of their boots, they provide a classic look and a quality boot.</div>

<br />
<h3>
The collaboration between Kanye West and Jay-Z is as strong as the foundations of the Empire State Building but 2013 has brought these two figureheads of modern rap to battle. Both Kanye and Jay-Z have released new solo material with the releases of 'Yeesus' and 'Magna Carta Holy Grail' and automatically the sales of their material are very close indeed.</h3>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The similarities between both artists show exactly why their collaboration in music achieves greatness with tracks like 'Otis' and 'N****as in Paris'. Their album 'Watch The Throne' was a huge hit last year and both artists are at their prime of music creation, Kanye and Jay-Z are the go-to men when it comes to modern rap tracks.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Both artists have used the foundation of religion as the basis of their albums with both of them claiming to be 'God'. However with all their similarities, they have decided to differ in the direction their new albums go in.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Kanye West's 'Yeesus' is modern in every sense with his new fashion-challenging looks, abstract live shows and this album follows that trend with a mix of sounds that is very unique indeed. However the mix doesn't always work, some tracks are amazing like 'Black Skinhead' and 'Blood on the Leaves' with their modern ways and classic Kanye lyrics but some of the album sounds monotonic, dull and on top of that the constant claim of Kanye claiming he is 'God' is somewhat annoying. His direction is new and fresh with will excite many of his devoted fans but he hasn't yet mastered his innovative ways, he is like a professor with a new idea but without the science behind it to perfect his method.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Jay-Z's newly released album 'Magna Carta Holy Grail' has seemed to take a much diluted dose of modern direction than 'Yeesus' to tease those millions of fans to plot the future of Jay-Z's music. His classic, tongue-in-cheek lyrics with the subtle addition of some famous lyrics from the likes of 'R.E.M.' and 'Nirvana' go perfectly with some new beats and hanging basslines that will get any party going. His collaboration with some of the best artists at the moment also bring the prospect of some chart releases will bring his exposure of his album to the premium level especially the collaboration with his wife, Beyonce, that will get any music-lover salivating. His experience in this game has definitely shone through this album, the album gives a sense that Jay-Z created this album and he already knew exactly what each track was going to sound like before he even started making it.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Even though this heavyweight fight is still in its early rounds, it definitely seems like Jay-Z could be getting that early knock out and claiming the title of 'Best rap album of 2013' with ease. Watch this space indeed.</div>

<h2>
With the fields of Glastonbury finally beginning to clear, the past weekend has produced some of the finest memories for music fans around the globe. Anyone that had a chance to go to Glastonbury for a single day or the entire weekend will agree that this year Glastonbury owned the festival season and it has only just begun.</h2>
<div>
Glastonbury missed out on the action last year to allow for the fields to recuperate from the annual bombardment of urine, alcohol, mud and other substances so this year they had to come back with a bang and earn the title of best festival of 2013 in style. That reward they have definitely accomplished. Even from the armchair of my sofa, Glastonbury was amazing with all the recorded action over the past weekend due to BBC's broadcast of the festival.<br />

<div>
Friday marked the return of the beloved Arctic Monkeys from their retreat to the dusty deserts of the Mojave. In 2007, Arctics were given the surprising and career-making spot of headlining Glastonbury and as much as they impressed, it always seemed that they could provide a whole lot more to that stage so in a way Arctics had a point to prove and by god did they prove it.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
With a set that included "some new shit and some old shit" to quote Turner's own words, the Arctics set a marker for a headliner at Glastonbury that many bands past and future will not achieve. The new look and the new surge of self-confidence that has surged through each member of the foursome and placed this band into contention as most probably the greatest band of this generation and the admiration of every youthful skinny-jeans wearing indie.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEha7uRTqKQhRlySwDHPssGmSGxdhlxpevZ1enuOwVTG4vk_L9rBRfrG4OMlTn6a9KbxFaof3uplX3asKMncbt06Q7lVSfKTJW7aw1fz6LBnHm4YgbX1LHIibzcISPPMbPDL6nySrodHuoA/s1600/Rolling-Stones-at-Glastonbury-Festival-2011729.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEha7uRTqKQhRlySwDHPssGmSGxdhlxpevZ1enuOwVTG4vk_L9rBRfrG4OMlTn6a9KbxFaof3uplX3asKMncbt06Q7lVSfKTJW7aw1fz6LBnHm4YgbX1LHIibzcISPPMbPDL6nySrodHuoA/s400/Rolling-Stones-at-Glastonbury-Festival-2011729.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
Out with the young and in with the old was the memo for the Saturday headliners as the OAP troop of four rockers otherwise known as the Rolling Stones blessed the stage with their presence. The Stones give a lesson for many bands to learn from with their upbeat tempo and Jagger's ever-so brittle hip flexes, watching his dance moves must of put St.John's Ambulance on the highest of alerts.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The Stones had the luxury of choosing from a back catalogue the size of the Holy Bible but as well as putting their new album at the forefront of their set, the classics were 'rolled' off one after the other in true Glastonbury fashion.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The sights on a Sunday at Glastonbury or any 3-day festival for that matter aren't the greatest of sights with the concoction of sex, drugs and rock and roll taking it's toll on the masses of teenage kids who think they can live it large after 48 hours of constant drinking that would make any kidney shreek in absolute horror. However the wonderful Mr. Glastonbury (Michael Eavis) chose the perfect band to make the copious amount of hungover-hippy students crawl out of their mud-ridden tents and end the festival in good spirits.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJl9OatvAEyu_xbVIRI2YRjD_B4FtAM86wkDuE7SNdWlyqB5bPyUbIIXn2rDdoRe-xa1CC_Zt6dzarLAA1TFUU5l6oIWgRShglvydObiKZ6TiVh9JnLZTjIyytFfuavebXQm_GRZrhGfw/s1600/glastonbury_mumfor_2604801b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="248" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJl9OatvAEyu_xbVIRI2YRjD_B4FtAM86wkDuE7SNdWlyqB5bPyUbIIXn2rDdoRe-xa1CC_Zt6dzarLAA1TFUU5l6oIWgRShglvydObiKZ6TiVh9JnLZTjIyytFfuavebXQm_GRZrhGfw/s400/glastonbury_mumfor_2604801b.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
That band that was given that no doubt pleasing and honourable task was the foursome who have extended rock-folk music to the masses, Mumford & Sons. Their easy-listening and sing-a-long anthems paid dividend as the crowd were able to relax and enjoy the beautiful music played in front of their eyes. Mumford provided the perfect end to Glastonbury with the song "I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends" which included numerous bands that performed throughout Sunday.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Away from all the limelight of headline acts, Glastonbury gifted us with a vast number of huge artists that suited every individual's 'cup of tea' with the likes of The XX, Neil Rodgers and Chic, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Editors and many more performing. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Glastonbury 2013 will be a tough act to follow for many of the festivals yet to come but the challenge is definitely in the hands Mr. Eavis as Glastonbury 2014 is less than a year away! </div>

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Arctic Monkeys has returned after a stint in the Joshua Tree desert with their new single 'Do I Wanna Know?'. Their collaboration with QOTSA's lead singer, Josh Homme, has certainly paid dividend with another heavy rock sound and by god doesn't it sound amazing. Alex Turner has definitely suited his change of style and sound to the more rock genre and the band have put themselves on a untouchable level, 'Do I Wanna Know?' is rock and roll how it should be done for a band with a new direction with its simple yet catchy rift and to match Turner's forever-catchy lyrics. If this song is a teaser for their album, then their 5th album will no doubt be epic.</span>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15729102526846283577noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7903218684802133165.post-45194999840236783442013-06-15T11:26:00.001-07:002013-06-15T11:26:31.104-07:00E3 - The Future of Gaming Revealed
<br />
<h3>
<span style="font-size: large;">E3 in the gaming world has bare witness to some of the most futuristic game trailers to date and has shown us audience a mere glimpse of how gaming will be played in the upcoming years.</span></h3>
<h3>
<span style="font-size: large;">A common theme amongst most of the game previews are their online performance and the idea of a online 'RPG' game. The following trailers will give a more clear indication of what direction the big players of gaming want to go into and I must add, it's exciting!!</span></h3>
<h4>
</h4>
<h3>
<span style="font-size: large;">I am not a huge gamer but I do keep a keen interest in the future of gaming especially on the console platform as Playstation and Xbox basically ruled my upbringing. Here are some of the new game trailers from E3.</span></h3>
<div>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<h3>
<span style="font-size: large;"><u>Tom Clancey's The Division</u></span></h3>
<div>
<div class="p1">
The new addition into the Tom Clancey collection goes down the online 'RPG' that I highlight before. It plays on the New York apocalypse theme that is proved to be a huge hit in current times amongst films and games but with a futuristic edge and vast array of gadgets. However the most fascinating part of this game is the online slant, from the trailer it seems that all of the game is based online so you and your team are surviving in the streets of New York against everyone else online at the same time. If this will on one huge server of a series of different servers is unknown but this game will certainly be a blockbuster if the trailer is like gameplay.</div>
<div class="p1">
<br /></div>

<div class="p1">
<br /></div>
<div class="p1">
<br /></div>
<h3>
<span style="font-size: large;"><u>Call of Duty - Ghosts</u></span></h3>
</div>
<div>
<div class="p1">
Obviously the talk of E3 was the new addition to the Call of Duty franchise titled 'Ghosts' and the trailer and gameplay trailer look epic. New story, new weapons and characters will work well for 'Ghosts' and hopefully the new setup for the online will rejuvenate the game from the likes of Modern Warfare and Black Ops . Call of Duty no doubt the biggest shooter on console but with the likes of Battlefield and Medal of Honour coming on leaps and bounds, Ghosts needs to bring something special.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/Zxnx3W-HA18?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div>
<div class="p1">
<br /></div>
<div class="p1">
<br /></div>
<div class="p1">
<br /></div>
<h3>
<span style="font-size: large;"><u>Battlefield 4</u></span></h3>
</div>
<div>
<div class="p1">
Call of Duty's main rival after the success of Battlefield 3 is the follow-up Battlefield 4 and yet again the game has put itself in the running for becoming one of best shooters of 2013. The graphics on this game are impeccable as always but what will put this game at the forefront of new-age shooters is Battlefields ever-changing environment. Buildings and structures will be affected massively from warfare damage and the online gameplay will show its desired effect. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/NraEp4q210c?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div>
<div class="p1">
<br /></div>
<div class="p1">
<br /></div>
<div class="p1">
<br /></div>
<h3>
<u style="font-size: x-large;">Watch_Dogs</u></h3>
</div>
<div>
<div class="p1">
The preview for this game takes gaming to a whole new level, playing on the accessibility of social media and modern society this game will let the player control a character that uses hacking methods to bring back justice in his own city-controlling way. Watch_Dogs is definitely a mix between GTA and Advanced Warfighter with its freedom of GTA and the advanced tech available to you in Advanced Warfighter. Hopefully this game can be available online with the sort of same basis of Tom Clancy's The Division with its online world.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/kPYgXvgS6Ww?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div>
<div class="p1">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<h3>
<u style="font-size: x-large;">FIFA 14</u></h3>
<div>
The annual release of FIFA is coming thick and fast and for yet another year EA Sports are the biggest sport game maker out there and FIFA itself is one of the biggest selling games ever with better graphics and a bigger sense of realism that puts this game on another level. In E3, EA Sports put all 3 sports of American Football, Basketball and Football together in a huge trailer of how EA have improved these games. The attention of detail and split-second decisions that affect the real game has been the focus of FIFA with better movements and players have become even more intelligent. FIFA will forever be football heaven for consoles and this year has heightened EA's god-like status.</div>

<object width="320" height="266" class="BLOGGER-youtube-video" classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0" data-thumbnail-src="http://img.youtube.com/vi/_AL1ZkIJ2zQ/0.jpg"><param name="movie" value="http://youtube.googleapis.com/v/_AL1ZkIJ2zQ&source=uds" /><param name="bgcolor" value="#FFFFFF" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><embed width="320" height="266" src="http://youtube.googleapis.com/v/_AL1ZkIJ2zQ&source=uds" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<h3>
<u><span style="font-size: large;">The Crew</span> </u></h3>
<div>
The good ol' Need for Speed game have a new competitor its title of the greatest car-racing game ever (in my eyes) and The Crew definitely has the credentials to knock the king of its crown. Based in the streets like Underground 1&2 of the NFS franchise, The Crew brings the whole customisation theme back but with a slight twist. The Crew title is a clue, if what I gained from the trailer is correct then this game will give the opportunity of an online crew patrolling the streets and causing sheer havoc and the customisation means each member of your crew can take a different role in the crew like speedster, wrecker etc... This game will definitely have NFS quaking in their racing slip-ons.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/d4JnshyKOOQ?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<h3>
<u><span style="font-size: large;">Batman: Arkham Origins</span> </u></h3>
<div>
The third release of the Batman Arkham trilogy is in the form of a prequel to the previous two to finish off the story very nicely indeed. The game will include the familier faces of The Joker and Bane but with the more in-depth addition of Black Mask, Deathstroke and Deadshot provides an exciting wait for the release of this game. The trailer hits to new gadgets and new fighting moves to give the player a fresh excitement and this removes any previous boredom from the other two. Batman will always provide a great plot and the previous stories/games didn't fail in that department and fingers crossed this whole new story will follow suit.</div>

<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: x-large;">Finally that glorious thing called the Sun has laid its rays upon England which means away from all the chavs wearing reebok shorts with the unrivalled combination of a wife-beater vest, people can start to buy some clothing that exposes skin without the risk of contracting frostbite...</span></h2>

<span style="font-size: large;">Our Legacy Classic Short-Sleeve Shirt (Sky & Swallows)</span></h4>

Every summer needs to include an outrageous summer shirt and this is the perfect one. The swallow definitely captures the trend at the moment and the colours do very well to stay away from the cliche summer shirt with its vast array of bold colours. Roll the sleeves up and top up that t-shirt tan. </div>

Stussy's surfing roots definitely are being resurfaced this summer with the use of Hawaii flowers and it works very well with the contrast of the black tee. Black isn't the best colour to use under the summer sun but black tees go perfectly with light chinos and will be a great look for those holiday festivals around the globe.</div>

<span style="font-size: large;">Oliver Spencer x Superga 2750 (White)</span></h4>

Oliver Spencer's collaboration with Superga provide the perfect beach plimsole with its simple yet fashionable style. These plimsoles could be used throughout the summer for visiting the beach right through to have a few ciders in a beer garden. Although the collaboration pair are more expensive than just the original Superga version, it is always nice to stand out from the crowd once and a while.</div>

<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Everyone and anyone who enjoys the cocky boyish rambles of Liam Gallagher will have downloaded Beady Eye's teaser for their new album titled 'BE'. This song has all the normal beatles-like tint that Liam so effortlessly perfects but it gives the sense of a new direction for Beady Eye away from all the brotherly fighting and boozey s**t that comes out of his mouth. Respect is earned.</span></div>

<div>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Miles' teaser for his second album titled the same brings back the 'Kane' charm that we all love. The single starts as it means to go on with the 60s-esque bass line, funky guitar and <i>don't forget </i>the catchy lyrics however although its very similar to his first album, his EP release shows a much more complex second album ready in store for us. </span></div>

<div>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;"><b><u><br /></u></b></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Words are not needed to describe the perfection of this album but Daft Punk's second feature with the man of the moment Pharrell Williams brings more funk and more dancing to the world. This track has everything 'Get Lucky' holds but with another layer of funk! (not even possible)</span></div>

<div>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;"><b><u><br /></u></b></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Another feature for Pharrell but this time Robin Thicke brings him away from the futuristic funk of Daft Punk and into the modern chart track with 'Blurred Lines'. The track isn't a nightclub anthem but it will get all them movers and shakers up in a jiffy with its catchy "hey hey heys" and "woos" of Pharrell. The video isn't too bad either from both a male and females p.o.v.</span></div>

<div>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;"><b><u><br /></u></b></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Away from all the vintage-clothes wearing and breaking through ceilings, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis have created this beautiful and inspiring track. Titled 'Same Love' Macklemore tells the tale of being homosexual and being a rapper and the feature of Mary Lambert brings a softer sound to the track but also a more authentic feel to song with her being a lesbian herself.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">The Great Gatsby is hitting our cinema screens this week and along with the film release, the release of its heavily hyped soundtrack was available to download last week and it is far from a let down...</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
The soundtrack itself includes track from Jay-Z, the XX, Florence and The Machine plus many more to create what can only be described as a piece of art in itself. Baz Luhrmann, the director of the film, enlisted the help of Jay-Z to executively produce its soundtrack and the choice has worked perfectly as the soundtrack is a perfect blend of modern beats and sounds with the recognisable rhythms of boom-time America.<br />
<br />
Jay Gatsby is extravagant in every form of the word and the music to accompany the film matches that perfectly, not only does the soundtrack help portray the emotion in the film, it elates it to a whole new level which you couldn't get from reading the book. The Great Gatsby is one of my favourite novels I have ever read and the soundtrack is exactly what my mind plays in its own head while reading the story.<br />
<br />
Even though Jay-Z got together some of the biggest names in the music industry to create this soundtrack, the artists he used grasp the whole plot and notion of the novel and you can feel the emotion of every song right from the up-beat swing songs to the emotional, heart-breaking ballads and this is something rare for a soundtrack, the album itself could hold its own place in the charts by itself. A lot of the artists include many of the motifs included in the story in their lyrics and it gives the sense that the artist have exactly read and understand the novel and have just made a song for the money and exposure.<br />
<br />
The soundtrack is available to download on iTunes and buy in-store and this incredible album is definitely worth the purchase.<br />

<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">2013 has graced us with some fantastic albums for some old and new faces so far and it has got music fans around the globe very excited for what is to come for the rest of the year. We are coming up to nearly a third way through 2013 so here is some of the best albums I have listened to..</span></h4>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<h3>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: small;"><u style="font-weight: normal;">Palma Violets - 180</u></span></h3>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">These London-formed lads have burst onto the scene with special attention and rave reviews coming from NME and the such. Their debut album titled <i>180 </i>is a great indie album and a pleasure to listen to, their soft and smooth beats provide a well earned rest to our ears after a hard days work. The lead singers of Samuel Fryer and 'Chilli' have a sense to a Vaccine-like twang to them but with a more mellow sound to their song. The Modfather himself, Paul Weller, praised them after awarding them with best new band in the NME Awards Ceremony and praise from Weller has to well earned.</span></div>

<h3>
<u style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><span style="font-size: small; font-weight: normal;">David Bowie - The Next Day</span></u></h3>
<div>
<u style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><span style="font-size: small;"><br /></span></u></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Bowie fans had to wait 10 years for this album to come out and by heck Bowie didn't let them down. For what will be undoubtedly his final album, Bowie has left us with an album that deserves respect and the highest of praises. He provides a mature sense of rock'n'roll in this album with great lyrics that takes fans back to share his and their own best days. <i>The Next Day</i> instantly became the fastest selling album of 2013 and to no surprise the rumours of one last hurrah in Bowie doing a live show spread around the web.</span></div>

<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">ANNA shows the growth of the Courteeners and is an album that will hold significance in their future at the top of the indie music scene. The Courteeners' second album, <i>Falcon </i>was adored by the hardcore fans but it failed to hit the masses but ANNA has done what the second album intended to do and show that the Courteeners aren't just a one album pony. A new look Liam Fray has completed shifted this band from indie has-beens to a completely new direction with this album but still maintain that <i>St. Jude </i>charm about them, hats off to Liam indeed.</span></div>

<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Miles hasn't released the full extent of his second album just yet but his EP titled, <i>Give Up</i>, has got the new age mods revving up their vespas in excitement. However it isn't all mod-revival with this EP giving a more rock'n'roll feel to it with the single <i>Give Up</i> but it does show that Miles isn't prepared to stick to what he knows with his cuban heels and Weller-esque barnet and he is going to branch out to a more vast audience. Miles doesn't stray too far with his B-side <i>Woman's Touch </i>which still has all that Miles charm and indi-mod feel. Collaborations with Paul Weller and other artists shows a lot of promise for his second album though!</span></div>

<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">I must admit was a late addition but after listening to their released singles it was definitely worth a mention. Wild Belle are a mix with The Specials and a distant Jazz cafe with their debut album <i>Isles. </i>The brother-sister duo from Chicago have certainly been the band on everybody's lips and this album certainly holds a lot of praise but to see where they go from this album is a difficult vision to make clear. Their jazz/reggae/pop/ska edge is hard to replicate twice without sounding samey but this album is a cracker. </span></div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigZHiZPxOqs1wR-G65Cv3kpbk2cMLKWUaqVHdkXfccMPyTP6hV7rQPgjHbz4GcAbYo0TF0XXiXRyhwpQCATbPpmv6X_AtzZECn1WSMLnESy_0y9nnYgWcOldKD2BcoIJ_5N72ORzdvsTs/s1600/just-married-gay-marriage.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="474" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigZHiZPxOqs1wR-G65Cv3kpbk2cMLKWUaqVHdkXfccMPyTP6hV7rQPgjHbz4GcAbYo0TF0XXiXRyhwpQCATbPpmv6X_AtzZECn1WSMLnESy_0y9nnYgWcOldKD2BcoIJ_5N72ORzdvsTs/s640/just-married-gay-marriage.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
So finally the issue of gay marriage in the UK has finally "came out" and it has split the British Government indefinitely. The question I ask is "what is actually the genuine problem with gay marriage?" Why has it caused a huge divide amongst the government? Around the world gay marriage is beginning to become legal with French MPs approving the gay marriage bill and the state of Illinois declaring that the Democratic party has enough votes to approve it on the floor of the Illinois Senate but in Britain it seems a long and problematic road away from being finally agreed on.<br />
<br />
David Cameron's passion to modernise the Conservative Party and British politics is shown in his support of gay marriage but instead of the mass roars of support he wanted, David Cameron got a rain of disapproval from his MPs. Many Conservative MPs took to the press to vent their anger with the proposition of same-sex marriage, the words of Tim Loughton, Conservative MP for East Worthing and Shoreham, was rather old-fashioned when he stated:<br />
<br />
<b>"Who are we, this government or this country, to redefine the term marriage that has meant one man and one woman across cultures, across ages, across geographical barriers since before state and religion themselves?"</b><br />
<b><br /></b>
This is exactly David Cameron's agenda for modernising British politics, gay marriage is seen as a huge jump in gay equality and for Britain to stand up to the past and present world and be the leading country in making an example. Britain always seem to sit in the shadows of major countries about decisions that can effect the world until a decision has been made, but this gives our country a chance to stand up for what is right and become a shining light for gay people to see hope in.<br />
<br />
Some MPs just stood for their own principles like Sir Gerald Howarth, Conservative MP for Aldershot, who admitted that <b>"I am not a Tory moderniser, for I believe that marriage can only be between a man and woman and I shall not surrender my principles. </b>However the Conservative Party aren't all against gay marriage, many MPs supported Cameron and showed the ridiculous nature of being against it. Nick Herbert, Conservative MP for Arundel and South Downs, was especially jocular about the commotion it caused but his point is absolutely right.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="p1">
<b>Nick Herbert, Conservative MP for Arundel and South Downs:</b> "Are the marriages of millions of straight people about to be threatened because a few thousand gay people are permitted to join? What will they say: 'Darling our marriage is over, Sir Elton John has just got engaged to David Furnish'?"</div>
<br />
<br />
His argument is something that has no doubt been on the lips of many of the British public in saying that 'what does it actually change?' and the answer is nothing. Gay marriage has been thought upon as some sort of colossal change in Britain but all that will alter is a few more men and women at the 'altar'. Marriage itself is the ultimate sign of love and affection towards two people and yes perhaps the definition of marriage is somewhat different - <span style="background-color: white; color: #212121; line-height: 15px;"><span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><i>The formal union of a man and a woman, typically recognized by law, by which they become husband and wife </i>- but the definition itself is as outdated as the MPs who believe it. </span></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #212121; line-height: 15px;"><span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></span>
<h2>
<span style="color: #212121; font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="line-height: 15px;"><u>So what's next?</u></span></span></h2>
<div>
<span style="color: #212121; font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="line-height: 15px;">Well according to The Independent "the House of Commons voted by a majority of 400 to 175 to redefine marriage and make it available to all." So all is well, hopefully Britain will see gay marriage being made legal sometime in the near future. David Cameron tweeted </span></span><b>"Strong views exist on both sides but I believe MPs voting for gay people being able to marry too, is a step forward for our country." </b>However pleasing this may be, Cameron can't fully rest as his party still show signs of their bigit foundations. 139 Tories voted against the notion including two cabinet ministers which in Cameron's eyes shows a lack of support towards the modernisation of British politics and considering this party are at the heart of the government, Cameron may feel like he is battling a losing battle.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Nick Clegg and Ed Miliband took to the press to express their utmost approval of this step forward with both mentioning how this will be looked back upon and seen as a "landmark for equality in Britain". This is a huge step for equality indeed and hopefully countries around the world will see this move as a sign of the future to come.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
As for the people it effects the most, gay marriage will hopefully be legalised soon enough for same sex partnerships to enjoy that special day in the confidence that their country isn't secretly frowning upon them and this step in equality will only give more people the confidence to embrace their sexuality and open up to who they really are. </div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjp1VLOghh8yaBdWztKEDQtF9LdENKcbr3mdt_TQkf5HiOaLoSaBDMdXOz2rXqt54co-9RvdhP-IAQjNB1ewtUTFEAiOb8z9oRtGmecAhigPQj-b4iFxHDm0ojuFR1fm2jlJmSVI5ke0iI/s1600/Newcastle_Quayside_with_bridges.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="429" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjp1VLOghh8yaBdWztKEDQtF9LdENKcbr3mdt_TQkf5HiOaLoSaBDMdXOz2rXqt54co-9RvdhP-IAQjNB1ewtUTFEAiOb8z9oRtGmecAhigPQj-b4iFxHDm0ojuFR1fm2jlJmSVI5ke0iI/s640/Newcastle_Quayside_with_bridges.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
Newcastle has always been known to be a city of art and culture and it within its walls are some of the best cultural emblems in the UK. The Baltic art gallery is visited from people all around the world and it has displayed some of the finest pieces of art you can find today, also the Baltic is joined by award-winning architecture like the Sage music arena and the Millenium Bridge on the quayside of Newcastle and Gateshead to provide a showpiece of culture for both tourists and locals. <br />
<br />
So when it was announced by the City Council that their funding for arts and culture were to be cut it caused much frustration amongst the city. A total loss of 1.5m in public funding will be lost it has been projected which will no doubt cripple the arts in the city, organisations such as Theatre Royal, Dance City and Northern Stage will have to survive on profits alone which is a very big ask in today's current climate. An article in The Guardian hit the nail on the head when saying that 'the decision means the city will soon become a test case for the survival of the arts in a harsh climate, rather than a shining example of the positive impact of cultural investment'.<br />
<br />
These cuts have created an opposition from well known north-east artists such as Sting, Bryan Ferry and Marc Knopfler who have openly criticised the council's decision. In a letter written to the council which includes the signatures of those mentioned says the cuts will "decimate the cultural life of the city".<br />
<br />
As much as the criticism is well deserved, Councillor Nick Forbes has came out with a statement explaining the need for these cuts. In his statement he admits that the cuts have been "forced upon us" and that he himself shares the anger and upset that the cuts have created. <br />
<br />
However, the Councillor does explain why the cuts have been made and the reasoning behind them paint a shocking picture of the general climate in today's society. He explains that "arts come before life and death services like children's social work" which I am sure no-one could argue about but this does show worrying signs away from the cuts that councils around the UK aren't getting the support they need for these vital services like elderly care and care for the vulnerable. <br />
<br />
The cuts in art and culture in the North-East can't just been seen as a "terrible breach of faith" as Anthony Sargent, general director of the Sage Gateshead' believes they are but as make-or-break decision to save some of the most important services around which provide life saving support for many of people in the region. I am sure that the council know how much we care about the arts and our culture in this region so they hopefully will give funding where they can but the safety and support of our own neighbours is a major priority.<br />
<br />
The arts will always shine brightly in our region and the North-East will come out on top of the battle and the public will help as much as they can.<br />

<br />
Miles Kane has released another single from his upcoming new album. 'Give Up' is the second single that will feature in his new album and this gives the indication that this album will be more rock'n'roll than mod-revival! Even though the Weller-esque hairstyle still remains in all it's glory, Miles has went for a new sound in this single with a more Suck It And See influence rather than Abbey Road.<br />
<br />
His time spent with the Monkeys in the US seems to have paid off as Miles has grown into an artist who can comfortably experiment away from the all the indie craze he was sucked into with Last Shadow Puppets and his first solo album. Rock'n'Roll seems to be on the rise and this single is definitely going to a huge hit in all those student and indie bars around the UK! You might even see some air guitar while you are there!!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15729102526846283577noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7903218684802133165.post-60204715708807784782013-01-17T09:52:00.001-08:002013-01-17T09:52:29.677-08:00Mixtape #5Back for another mixtape guys, first one of 2013!<br />
<br />
Here is some tracks and mixes that I have been listening and grooving to over the Christmas and New Year, hope you enjoy.<br />

Frank Ocean)</span></h2>
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">Watch The Throne made huge waves all over the world and this track matches the giant nature of this album, right from the opening baseline this track creates that sense of style (swag) that JAY-Z and Kanye bring to the music scene. This track also features the man of the moment Frank Ocean who provides some perfect notes to preach the true purpose of the track. I heard this on the trailer of The Great Gatsby first and it grabbed me straight away with that baseline, what a baseline!</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Groove Armada - Superstylin'</span></h2>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">This song will definitely bring you back whilst you rave around your bedroom. Back in 2001, Groove Armada released Superstylin' and this song became one of the biggest dance tracks at the time (it even reached no.12 in the charts!). I love trying to mix this song whilst playing around on my decks as it just makes you want to dance around like an idiot and not give a care in the world. Whenever you are feeling down give this song a listen...</span></div>

D.O.N.S. - Pump Up The Jam (D.O.N.S. vs Kurd Maverick Club Mix)</span></h2>
<div>
This remix of the original Technotronic hit is not to be sniffed at, I still think that you can't get any beat than the original itself but this remix sticks very close to the original beat and vocals while modernising it to make a much deeper beat and a more house feel to the track! This mix is a treat to mix with its fading, repeating vocals towards the start and end.</div>

Gorillaz - Feel Good Inc. (Stanton Warriors Remix)</span></h2>
<div>
Another remix and yet again this mix keeps very close to the original using the guitar chords to ease the song and get the crowd going. Feel Good Inc. has been remixed by the very best and used in a lot of DJ's samples and this mix by the Stanton Warriors is up there. Definitely worth a listen!</div>

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">WU LYF - Cave Song</span></h2>
</div>
<div>
I have only just starting to WU LYF's album 'Go Tell Fire To The Mountain' but 'Cave Song' sticks out to be their best straight away! Evan Kati's harsh and painful voice contrasts in a weird but perfect way to the band's melodies. This band remind me a lot of Radiohead, not in the music sense as both bands master different sounds but in the intimacy they display in their music. You sense the emotion in every word and every chord this band play!</div>

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Domo Genesis - Boss Life</span></h2>
<div>
I confess that I am not the biggest fan of rap, r'n'b etc.. but this track by Odd Future's finest, Domo Genesis, is a track that I can listen to over and over again. Odd Future have all these mixtapes for free download on their website and this album is definitely worth your time! Domo brings style and "swag" with this track but with the underlays of his Odd Future influence.</div>

While on the topic of trainer releases, KangaROOS are releasing these funky pair of trainers. Following from the recent trend of animal prints that Nike have done with mostly all their releases this year like the Nike Safari collection, the shape of this collection does hold similarities with Nike, Saucony and New Balance but I think they have done a much better job of using leopard print and zebra print to make a stylish and wearable pair of trainers without feeling like you are some of phallic object. I prefer the colour and patterning of the leopard print pair but the bright green and zebra pattern does go very well together. These should be dropping online and stores around in the near future and I will be keeping a keen eye on these!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15729102526846283577noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7903218684802133165.post-90641061717970602032013-01-11T03:29:00.000-08:002013-01-11T03:29:19.086-08:00David Bowie - Where Are We Now?<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Bowie is back with a subtle bang with his new single 'Where Are We Now?' which is released in conjunction with his 66th birthday as this single has that 'getting old' feel to it straight from the first word. Bowie shows a more reflective mood in this single which perfectly accompanies the immaculate yet depressing voice of Bowie to give the impression that this could be the last we hear of the master himself.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">To reach the firm age of 66 and still be able to challenge the boundaries and musical waves of this present day could only be achieved by a great writer and musician like Bowie himself but this single shows Bowie as reflecting on all his glory and fame in a simple and melodic way. That is where the beauty of this single lies for me, this single isn't about all the makeup and lightening bolt costumes that Bowie so famously wore... this single is about an old, fragile man who is coming to the end of his career but who wants to reflect and let the audience join and remember his good old days! Bowie will be remember as one of the finest British artists ever to grace our ears and at his age to still be making beautiful music like he does is a fantastic testament and a musical obituary to him.</span><br />

<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
2013 is shaping up to be one the best years for cinema in recent times with some of the biggest names releasing some absolute fantastic films that will get film-lovers around the world salivating on their slightly salted popcorn. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
January eases you in nicely with the blood-fest that it Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D which is already proving to be a huge success by knocking off the mighty Hobbit off the top-selling film as of recent, TCM 3D is a legend in the world of horror movies and its collaboration with the ever-growing trend of 3D will only give this gorey great more reason to be deemed one of the best selling horror films ever!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
January also boasts the releases of Hansel and Gretel Witch Hunters, Zero Dark Thirty and my favourite out of the lot, Gangster Squad.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghdJXyLqniZmYjsijqOQG5Po5nDjPITnEPhBb4EK8EzMzRTU3jVhqo62sv-o1GIObfFoKf_hYBck12ufxoUdKHYdiY6ZND2jb4mNqQOyO6Cht6NIoVGkmIKo6Vy5fga4chtB8HKwOiPDY/s1600/Texas-Chainsaw-3D-UK-Quad-Poster.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="479" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghdJXyLqniZmYjsijqOQG5Po5nDjPITnEPhBb4EK8EzMzRTU3jVhqo62sv-o1GIObfFoKf_hYBck12ufxoUdKHYdiY6ZND2jb4mNqQOyO6Cht6NIoVGkmIKo6Vy5fga4chtB8HKwOiPDY/s640/Texas-Chainsaw-3D-UK-Quad-Poster.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
3D seems to be dominating our screens at the moment as the craze of looking like a complete tool in the cinemas is continuing to ruin the lives of fellow glasses wearers like me who have to wear not <b>one </b>but <b>two</b> pair of glasses to feel the excitement of somebodies bodily sweat come out of the screen (great). This craze has hit another classic film as Jurassic Park hits our 3D glasses in April, same story line as the first one but with the joys of seeing a dinosaurs tail in 3D, I cant wait!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPls14-aifZNDpzhwiAJBVUBI6vkvniBicOX1erFXu2BVupd_tn30X44kgQO5AZwX79vAID6MRG-sNmhhVGOEF8ZvqGEErGuJQWxd0E7iL4bFrhpSldYcmzsFpXN5STq8fwpbqDpb-HXA/s1600/jurassic-park-3d-poster.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPls14-aifZNDpzhwiAJBVUBI6vkvniBicOX1erFXu2BVupd_tn30X44kgQO5AZwX79vAID6MRG-sNmhhVGOEF8ZvqGEErGuJQWxd0E7iL4bFrhpSldYcmzsFpXN5STq8fwpbqDpb-HXA/s640/jurassic-park-3d-poster.jpg" width="404" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Another theme seeming to populate 2013's film releases is the theme of the future of the Earth, I guess this is due to the wasted belief in the 21/12/2012 phenomenon but I must admit these films will make great viewing. First off is the title Oblivion which stars our favourite hero, Tom Cruise, in a post-alien war thriller. The trailer looks pretty good to be honest but it seems to lack a plot and any sort of relevance whatsoever because currently we aren't in an alien war nor do we know if aliens exist. After Earth is my choice of post-apocalyptic Earth film for two reasons ... </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
1. It includes the father and son combo of Will & Jaden Smith! </div>
<div>
2. It includes the father and son combo of Will & Jaden Smith! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFOYufQEnzU59NEIZ-lahyphenhyphenh2u3HRsU84pb9cJhlzEcB3UUAwTG0Mbep54rx3907dnZrookYmbhSzsQPBj2HuerVq3y3wCfsI_ut015hft3cdtFOrmLjwPxCuul0dwPt_7po31i7SuJbvE/s1600/After-Earth.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFOYufQEnzU59NEIZ-lahyphenhyphenh2u3HRsU84pb9cJhlzEcB3UUAwTG0Mbep54rx3907dnZrookYmbhSzsQPBj2HuerVq3y3wCfsI_ut015hft3cdtFOrmLjwPxCuul0dwPt_7po31i7SuJbvE/s640/After-Earth.jpg" width="476" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Now May is the greatest month of whole time (my opinion) as the film releases are the best we will see for a long time I truly believe, I will basically live in Empire Cinemas in May! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>

Iron Man 3, The Great Gatsby and then Star Trek Into Darkness, if that doesn't get your geeky sci-fi, super hero, Literature brain tingling then basically nothing will. We will finally get to see Leonardo Di Caprio play the amazing Jay Gatsby himself the film adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic novel, I have read this book and this film looks exactly how you would picture it in your head whilst reading and the cast selection is perfect for the characters in the novel. The geek side also will get to see Iron Man's nemesis and the introduction of Captain Kirk's nemesis who is played by the man himself Benedict Cumberbatch.</div>

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Christmas sales have officially already begun with End Clothing already posting most of their sale items online ready for all the eager shoppers on Christmas Day looking for that expensive Christmas jumper they couldn't afford beforehand. I have went through all of the sale stuff soo far and picked out some very good bargains and some stuff that I have personally got on my own wishlist!</span><br />

This backpack comes in a wide range of colours and it is neat and compact without all of the pockets and compartments you find on normal bags which I definitely prefer, it is on sale from £55.00 to £35.00 so for £20 cheaper it is a definite bargain and will more than likely be getting bought in the January sales.</span></span><br />

<span style="background-color: white; color: #666666; font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 1em;">This Fred Perry Roll Neck Sweater is a mush-have winter warmer but I am still undecided whether it is worth buying as I don't know if I would get my wear out of it. It is now £79.00 from its original price of £135.00 so it is a real saver but I have seen a few pieces of knitwear also included in the sale so I may choose something more </span><span style="line-height: 16px;">versatile</span><span style="line-height: 1em;"> than this sweater but never-the-less this is a beautiful version of the classic from Fred Perry and if you are a regular fisherman than I would suggest splashing some Christmas money off loved ones on this piece as the English seas are a cold place to be.</span></span><br />

Puma's release of their classic the Suede but Made In Japan have been a firm favourite of mine since I first seen them on Hypebeast but the price was too much for a pair of trainers and my financial state wasn't in the best condition but they are now at £75.00 compared to their original price of £139.00 so I am going to End straight away to buy these and I suggest others do as well (after me of course).</span></span><br />

<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 16px;">This is the other sweater I have found in the sale at End and it is perfect for the upcoming end of winter we will experience, compared to the Fred Perry Roll Neck this Pendleton Shetland Crew Neck Knit is much more versatile and will go perfectly with a crisp Oxford Shirt to celebrate New Year or any post-Christmas celebrations people are doing. I was going to buy the maroon version of this sweater for my birthday in November and I am glad I didn't because my preference is much rather with this Oatmeal colour and its farmer ways. £55.00 now from its original price of £95.00</span></span><br />

Fred Perry perfectly mix classic cuts and clothes with simplicity, these 60th Anniversary pieces are a great testament to Fred Perry with a simple but elegant Zip Through Cardigan which just oozes cool, you could wear this anywhere and look as cool as the Modfather himself but for half the price of his socks. I seen this in End ages ago and I automatically couldn't resist myself from buying but fortunately my bank balance stopped me as this has been reduced to £125.00 from £175.00 which is still expensive especially after spending a lot of money over the Christmas period but it is definitely worth it. On the other side of the price spectrum is this classic Fred Perry polo, I don't know one person who doesn't own a Fred Perry polo but this is my favourite I have seen as I love the colour mixture of claret and blue with the style and simplicity of a Fred Perry polo. This has been reduced from £69.00 to £45.00 which is a great price for such a lovely piece of clothing.</span><br />

<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Last but certainly not least are another pair of trainers from a great collaboration of Saucony and White Mountaineering to make these very different but fantastically looking trainer. Saucony remind me a lot of New Balance with some of their releases but these are something very different and I like these alot. The original price of £249.00 is what put me off a lot and I don't tend on spending over £100.00 on a pair of footwear but they have been reduced significantly down to £155.00 which is still alot of money but for a pair of trainers which such limited numbers it is definitely worth it for those with a lot of money floating around! By the way I take a size 9 if you want to buy me a pair as well thanks.</span><br />

<br />
Local lad and good friend of mine Alex Butler has released a spanking new video for his third track on his EP called Stole Her Away.<br />
<br />
The four track EP named Turn is available to download on iTunes and I would totally suggest you to download as the EP is an absolute gem, his first two releases Turn and Come Out of Your House are very indie-pop and brimming with energy but Stole Her Away brings another element to his ability that shows a much softer side to Alex.<br />
<br />
Stole Her Away revels in its differentness with quirky snippets of lyrics to harmonize perfectly with the unique and charming voice of Alex in all his chivalrous ways.<br />
<br />
Alex definitely deserves credit for his EP and his creativity and variety in both his tracks and accompanying videos, his live shows have been given rave reviews off people I have spoke to so he is the ultimate package (he even wears cuban heels!!)<br />

<h2>
<u><span style="font-size: large;">Alt-J (∆) - An Awesome Wave</span></u></h2>
<div>
Mercury prize winning album An Awesome Wave is the debut album from band Alt-J (∆) and it deserves all credit. The sound they produce is very unique and melodic with their vast selection of synths and beats they have used to create a defining debut album. This album has been a none stop playlist on my iTunes and it is well worth a listen as this band hit a lot of genres with their music and this band's recent fame is well earned.</div>

<h2>
<u><span style="font-size: large;">The xx - Coexist</span></u></h2>
<span style="font-size: small;">The xx's second album caused much debate prior to its release any many questioned if it could emulate their first album, X, which won the Mercury prize in 2010. Coexist didn't even make the nominations for the prize but this album is far from a let-down for The xx, their sound is even more refined than their debut album with its basic melodies which catch the imagination of any listener. Their sound is very similar to their debut album but Jamie xx has found his element and he polishes off the bands sound perfectly to give this second album a more of a mature sound like The xx have discovered their sound and now they are mastering it.</span><br />

<h2>
<u><span style="font-size: large;">Jake Bugg - Jake Bugg</span></u></h2>
<div>
Jake Bugg has had some year with his self-titled debut album. Starting off with a support slot for Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds then ending with a Number One album in the UK Charts is something which most 19 year old's wont achieve in their lifetime. His blistering riffs and folk-like voice have set him a class apart from many bands around at the moment and his fame is well deserved because this album is an absolute gem. This album holds a mix of dance-floor fillers and some songs to relax and respect his country-ess voice so there is a bit of everything for listeners to take from the album. Next year will be another huge year for Jake with live shows and another album soon on the way.</div>

<h2>
<u><span style="font-size: large;">Plan B - ill Manors</span></u></h2>
<div>
Plan B has placed himself in the 'creme' of British artists with this album, the album is made as the accompanying soundtrack to his own directed film under the same title. Plan B returned to his hip-hop roots for this album after his soul album, The Defamation of Strickland Banks, and he is better than ever. The album is all about the council estates of London and how the government and politicians are causing all the recent riots from the youths of today, personally I love what this album stands for and how it is far from all the other British hip-hop albums with their luxury lifestyles etc.. this albums hits home the problems that the working-class face today and the lack of support they receive from David Cameron and his pathetic government.</div>

<h2>
<span style="font-size: large;"><u>Calvin Harris - 18 Months</u></span></h2>
<div>
Calvin Harris had made himself the go-to guy if artists are after great nightclub floor-fillers and even possible Number One's in the charts with his catchy beats but unlike many chart DJs of the present like David Guetta etc.. I respect Calvin Harris. Each song he releases is completely different to the last one and he never forgets to collaborate with his fellow DJs for some dubstep, techno or house music. 18 Months is a mix of chart hits and some of his own stuff which shows the diversity of Calvin's tastes and ability as he can create hits for any genre of music. He has matured since his first album, I Created Disco, and has changed his sound completely to follow the trends of dance music of today.</div>

<div>
Odd Future returned in 2012 with their follow-up from their original mixtape named The Odd Future Tape but their craziness hasn't stopped in any stretch. 'Rella' was their first single from the album and that video was described as<span style="font-family: inherit;"> <span style="background-color: white; line-height: 19.200000762939453px;">"Hodgy Beats shoots lasers from his crotch that turn girls into cats, Domo Genesis smacks a black girl in the face and she turns Asian, Tyler as a coke-snorting centaur." I love this album and I am huge of OF's work as it just a collection of what they want to release, they somehow release this high energy, offensive montage of rap and still are able to grab the attention of imagination of all their listeners. Just incredible.</span></span></div>

<div>
<span style="line-height: 19.200000762939453px;">How could I not include these guys, they have a song about an elephant's trunk! Seriously though, Tame Impala have been one of my favourite bands this year just because of their sheer difference to what I normally listen to, their psychedelic rock has been a favourite of mine over the winter. Lonerism is a fine collection of their work with some excellent foot-tappers and then some difficult listening songs that once you conquer will be a firm favourite for many years to come. They twangy guitars and catchy drums are what make this band great as they play out tune after tune, their appearance on Jools Holland was impecable and showed their talent as a great live band.</span></div>

<h2>
<span style="line-height: 19.200000762939453px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><u>Mumford & Sons - Babel</u></span></span></h2>
<div>
<span style="line-height: 19.200000762939453px;">I have included songs off this album on my blog since it was released and with good reason, this album is my favourite this year by a long stretch. Mumford have somehow got away with applying the same formula that they did in their debut album to create a perfect concoction of folk beats and romantic lyrics that will melt the heart of any girl that has Marcus Mumford pasted all over her wall. I must admit I still believe this album could of been released as a deluxe version of the first album, Sigh No More, but no matter how much I criticise their lack of change in between albums I can never stop listening to them and seeing this band perform is something every fan should definitely do!</span></div>

<div>
<span style="line-height: 19.200000762939453px;">The Maccabees have done it again, everytime this band return I was doubt their success compared to their previous album but they always produce a spectacular album. 'Given To The Wild' is an album that shows another change in the music that The Maccabees are producing but they still include those tracks that will get their crowds bouncing off the ceilings at live shows. This album shows a softer side of the band with some nice melodic tracks but they always include the grand end to the track with some loud drums and crowd-pleasing chords to get any person dancing.</span></div>

<h2>
<span style="line-height: 19.200000762939453px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><u>The Lumineers - The Lumineers</u></span></span></h2>
<div>
<span style="line-height: 19.200000762939453px;">The Lumineers self-titled debut album deserves a lot of credit amongst the music world for its beautiful simplicity and it shows that you don't need all the technology in the world to create great songs but just a little bit of passion and band members who can play guitar, sing and provide a rhythm. That is what The Lumineers do perfectly, they make songs that anyone could replicate but songs that everyone wants to replicate because they are soo god damn beautiful. There first album has been a hit with all crowds and their exposure from TV adverts and other formats have made this album a great seller and a must listen.</span></div>
